To be honest, it wasn’t easy.

I discovered it in the craziest of ways…

You see, after my first business had failed & my family practically gave up on my dreams…

I knew I needed to do something VERY different… Or I’d never succeed.

So I packed my bags and headed to Nashville, Tennessee to work for one of the United States’ fastest growing entrepreneurs.
His name was Paul (last name redacted for privacy) and his company was doing around $310 Million per year, and my background of serving others had landed me a position as a PR (Public Relations) Assistant…

To be honest, I still don’t know how I got the job. I guess it was a mix of luck & my history of hard work (and probably my service time as a firefighter in Norfolk, VA after my business failed).
Because I had NO idea what I was about to get into…

The first few months sort of flew by…

I was doing some basic writing, reporting, branding, and other marketing stuff… But it didn’t seem to be as powerful as the undisclosed stuff Paul was doing in his private office all day.

Honestly, my goal was just to learn as much as I could about how he got his name out there so easily.

After all, Paul truly was a wild success story that went from a ‘nobody’ living in the poorest neighborhood in LA…

To doing several hundred million dollars per year.

Anyway… I couldn’t be more thankful.
And I KNEW that I’d have a better chance at succeeding as an entrepreneur one day if could somehow get him to be my mentor.

So one day when I found out Paul had fired one of the executives in his private office where all the ‘secretive stuff’ was going down…

I approached him one afternoon and literally BEGGED him if I could take the spot of the guy he just fired.

And given that I always busted my ass for Paul and did everything I could to show him I was a hard worker…
